IN-STOCK NOW: Feb 2026

After some great success with the launch of our Rios Roper Boot in 2024, we are proud to offer our first traditional cowboy boot in a slightly "dressier" leather and design in our No.20 Classic J-Boot.

The No.20 Classic J-Boot is a traditional cowboy boot with some attitude and style. An exclusive Coronado Leather boot made with a round toe, a full length 13" shaft, full leather outsole and a dressier, angled stacked heel(1-3/8" tall). Where our Roper boot has a flatter toe spring, the No.20 Classic J-Boot has a higher toe spring to give the boot a little more "attitude".  Made with contrasting tan, leather side seam piping, French pull-straps and detailed western stitching on the shaft and vamp.

Horween®  "Aspen" Horsehide | Tanned In Chicago, IL
This version is made entirely from a new Horween® horsehide called Aspen. Custom tanned for us in a dark brown, the Aspen horsehide leather has a rich lustre with a slight pull-up effect. Two features that really make horsehide stand out is the durability relative to the thickness and its's natural ability to mold and shape to your body and foot. It's one of those leathers that will age and patina like no other.

The No.20 Classic J-Boot | Handmade In Texas
The No.20 is handmade in Texas by Rios Of Mercedes, using our hand selected Hotween® leathers. Rios is one of only a few boot makers in the US that still produces boots using "Channelled Insole Goodyear Welt Construction", an artisanal construction process that extends the longevity, improves comfort and allows you to recraft the boot for generations. These are truly "Handmade" western boots, the way the used to be made. Each boot is hand-lasted and reinforced with a steel shank and that is secured with wooden pegs. The fully stacked leather heels are finished with a rubber heel tap for longevity. The boot is leather lined, built without any insole fillers and finished with a 100% veg-tanned leather outsole.

The Classic J-Boot Fit
The boot is standard D width and  built as a traditional, snug fitting western cowboy boot. It should be snug but not tight. They are American built and sized, so order at your standard boot size.
If you are used to a snug fitting cowboy boot, order at your boot size.

Narrow & Wide Widths (B & EE)
We do offer both a "B" (Narrow) or "EE" (Wide) in our Roper Boot No.10.  When placing your order for a custom width, select the option from the menu and we will contact you after the order is placed to confirm the size.
Please note, this would be be a non-returnable size, so please confirm your boot sizing first or call for more assistance.

With all-leather construction, the leather molds to your feet and holds them in place with every step. If the top (throat) size is correct, you’ll need to stand and give a firm pull to get the boot on. The fit around the instep should be “snug” but not “tight”. The ball of the foot should fit in the widest section of the boot. When you stand and lean forward, the ends of your toes should not touch the sides of the boot.

Beautiful boots!

"My favorite boots. The quality of the horsehide leather is top. Stitching on the shaft is beautiful, quality craftsmanship. They look great with blue or light, really any denim or a dressier pant. They for sure have the “attitude”."

Fit like a glove

"My feet have become a challenge with boots. I have been amazed at the fit and feel of these boots and the craftsmanship equals or exceeds my Lucchese boots. Thank you so much with your strategic partnership on this boot."

Jim C. (5/5)

"First off, thank you all for working with Rios to make this boot happen. Living in Texas and Arkansas, it’s virtually impossible to find a Rios boot that isn’t made in a square or snip toe. I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever seen a traditional J shaped toe from them. To combo that up with Horween Horsehide, is just icing on the cake. I’ve worn them every day since receiving."
