Dating back to the 1840's, the Ranger Belt originated in Texas and is very much an American Western iconic style. The sewn on billets were designed to give the belt added rigidity to hold the weight of a revolver. Like all great designs, the Ranger Belt has stood the test of time. Today we offer several variations of the original Ranger Belt but with a modern day feel.
The Shell & Horsehide Ranger belt is the finest and most detailed belt we have ever built.  Made from a combination of Horween® Shell Cordovan and CXL Horsehide. The tip and back billets are shell cordovan that are double layered and stitched before attached the base of the belt. Because shell cordovan is expensive and the size of the shells are limiting, you really don't see many shell cordovan belts today. This is one of the very first we have seen in a Ranger Belt. The base is cut at a 1-¼" width, so more of a dress belt size. It is made with smooth and sleek Horween® horsehide then stitched to a vegetable tanned nubuck backing. The billets are double layered and stitched separately (not common in Ranger belts). The edges of the billets and the base belt are hand stained, waxed and polished all by hand. We finish the belt with a classic heel bar, solid brass buckle that we import from Italy. Includes dual, double layered and stitched keeper and Chicago screws to remove or change the buckle.
