Inspired by the original Swiss Army saddle bags used in the 1920’s-40’s, our No.212 Saddle Bag is an exclusive design built rugged and stout, to last for generations.
The structured design utilizes old-world construction methods and heavier leathers to ensure it's durability and longevity without failing. We use a combination of two genuine US tanned Horween® leathers, tanned in Chicago since 1905. The body is cut from a heavy-weight (8/9oz.) vegetable tanned steerhide while the straps, loops, and trims are made from a veg-tanned horsehide in a 6-8z weight. The No.212 is completely leather-lined without any fabric. The front face is built with a full-length , one piece gusset, leather piping construction and side horsehide cinch straps. The flap is built with a hinge to allow it to lay flat and secured with an Italian made, solid brass buckle closure. We use the strongest, hand-set "flat-style" rivets that are indestructible and nearly impossible to remove. Built with a full-length horsehide leather strap for crossbody use or remove the strap and use the top-carry, reinforced handle. The inside is leather lined with a horizontal leather strap to secure a slim laptop or iPad.

STONE-WASHED AFTER CONSTRUCTION | Limited Edition
This version is made from two Horween® vegetable-tanned leathers. After construction they are stone-washed in a Los Angeles wash-house with close to a century of experience, where they are washed, tumbled with stones and dried before we drive them back to San Diego. After washing the bags are shaped, oiled and conditioned over several days. The process is all done by hand in small-batch quantities. Each bag is uniquely aged, broken-in and softened with no two bags alike. The raw edges are darkened, the panels are slightly wrinkled and the bag has an aged and worn appearance with genuine character.

"I received my no 212 Stonewashed Swiss Saddlebag in December 2025, just before Christmas. I love the leather finish , hand , aroma and general look and design. I have been using it to carry my tablet, stylus and a few sundries. There is a piece of leather that is rivited on the inside that my tablet slips in to so it does not move around. Very handy. It is extremely functional. I prefer to leave the flap unbuckled so I can easily add and remove items while wearing it. This is my new, best friend in my bag collection!!! It is pretty light weight and not bulky as compared to other bags in my collection. Very functional. The older I get, the less weight I want to carry so this is the right size for me. The strap is really long. I wish it had a retainer so the loose end did not flop around. A few more holes in the strap would be nice too. The hardware is beautiful and appears to be bullet proof for my application. An additional piece of leather on the bottom would be a nice addition. I plan to purchase another model of cross body from Coronado if and when they come out with new models with exterior flap and maybe a finished interior, in the future. Highly recommend the no. 212. I would certainly buy it again. I carry it all the time now."
