Our steerhide suede is a 3-3.5oz soft “garment grade” suede. Suede leather has a casual and slightly American Western appeal dating back to the 1960’s. Today it is used in luxury luggages, footwear and for us, Western vests and jackets. Suede is the section of the leather that sits under the “top grain”. When the split leather is exposed it is sanded and buffed in several stages to give the leather a fine velvet like “nap”. Without the top grain, suede leather is generally a drapey, soft leather. Because it is a suede or split leather, pours are more open and can absorb more oils, water and general dust/dirt. It’s best to avoid water, but a little rain won’t damage the leather. It’s best to embrace suede leathers and allow them to age, darken and “dirty up” a bit in a good way. You can clean with a suede brush or leather erasers. 

​​This product features our original and signature CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) pockets. Built on both the LEFT and RIGHT inside panels of the jacket or vest and accessible with a snap closure system. The pockets are lined with a durable 310 Denier nylon and a removable and adjustable retention strap/holster that is attached with Velcro®. 

When not used for CCW, the pockets are fully-functional and can be used for travel, wallets, documents or any other personal valuables.

We love building products a lot more than repairing them!  That’s why we design and build our products to last. We want the product to give you a lifetime of use, but if they fail due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product or replace it at little or no charge for the life of the product.

Our vests and jackets are US sized in what we consider to be “TRUE TO SIZE”. Because our garments are graded in US even number sizes, they move up and down in smaller increments. 

In general, you should order 1-2” larger than your “upper chest” measurement. This also  depends on your "Fit Preference", so consider what you will wear under the vest and how you prefer the fit (slim tapering or full cut).  If you will layer with the jacket or live in a colder climate, you may want to lean towards 2-3" more than your chest. In most cases 1-2" above the largest section of your torso would be your "Order Size".

TALL CUT
A “Tall Cut” Vest will be 2” longer (front and back). Nothing else changes.
A "Tall Cut” Jacket will be 2” longer in the body and 1” longer in the sleeve.
