All of our boots are handmade in Mercedes, Texas by the Rios Of Mercedes boot company using our US tanned leathers.

With more than 160 years of bootmaking experience, Rios are building some of the finest American Western booths in the world today. We have proudly partnered with as the exclusive manufacturer for our NEW and upcoming boots in the 2024/25 seasons.

Rios is one of the last American boot makes that still employs traditional Channeled Insole Goodyear Welt Construction. An intense, highly skilled and truly handcrafted process that extends the longevity, improves comfort and allows you to recraft the boot for generations.

Each boot is hand-lasted and reinforced with steel that is secured with wooden pegs. A fully stacked leather heels are finished with a rubber heel tap for longevity.

Our Horween® Americana leather is a natural, 100% vegetable tanned leather finished in Chicago, Illinois. The tannage uses Horween old-fashioned, time proven Shell Cordovan tanning liquors. A blend of fats, oils, natural waxes and greases are tanned into the leather giving the hides a durability, softness and a rich round feel. The hides are finished with a "hot-plating" to give them a smoother surface, a rich luster and a light sheen. You will notice a slight "pull-up" effect with light undertones and a wonderful "leather" smell. The "temper" or firmness of the leather is ideally suited for luggage and cases, with just the right amount of rigidity and body.

Our “Stone-Washed Leather” was inspired by vintage Americana work-wear, denim jeans and leather goods from the 60s'-80's. The process is 100% unique and developed exclusively by us over several years, with the first production run made in the Summer of 2015. 

We start with a Horween® vegetable-tanned leather in a chestnut tan color. The boots are built first, all in Mercedes, Texas. After construction, they are stone-washed in Los Angeles, where the company has been stone-washing denim jeans since the 1990’s.  Over the next 2-3 days, each product is brought back to life, involving several methods and steps to bring back the oils and lustre to the leather. There is no shortcut here, the process is 100% by hand and takes time and care. When they are ready, you will see rolled corners, darkened edges, creased flaps and changes in the grain, all making each product amazingly authentic and totally unique. 

The entire process, starting from the leather we use (Horween® tanned in Chicago), the construction (built in Texas) and the stone-washing (Los Angeles, CA) is 100% Made In The USA.

We love building products a lot more than repairing them!  That’s why we design and build them to last. We want the product to give you a lifetime of use, but if they fail due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product or replace it at little or no charge for the life of the item.
