Our Horsehide wallets are not just another “ordinary wallet”. We wanted the wallets to be genuine and simple, using leather, thread, stain and waxes, nothing more. The process is almost entirely done by hand, creating what is far from an “ordinary wallet”. We start with what we feel is an “ideal wallet leather”, Horween® Horsehide. The natural characteristics of this leather make it superior in so many ways; tight-grain, minimal stretch and extra-durable.
We use only Horween® horsehide leathers, tanned in Chicago since 1905. The individual pieces are die-cut for precision and split to an ideal thickness. They are then saddle-stitched completely by hand with imported French thread. After hand-sewing, they are carefully beveled, sanded, stained and waxed to give them a smooth, rounded edge.
