Our Garrison Deerskin Jacket #320 is an exclusive design inspired by American leather jackets in the 50's and 60's. We re-fitted our classic bomber pattern for a more comfortable sleeve and a slightly longer body. The body tapers at the waist with a 2" wide leather band, the sleeves are designed with a straight cuff and vintage design details. Other features include shoulder application details, a leather zipper pull, large panel single yoke back and side cinch buckles to adjust the taper.

The inside features a leather zipper "patch pocket", leather open pockets and premium plaid cotton/polyester lining. If you have never had or felt a deerskin jacket, it is like no other leather. The grain is lightly pebbled in a uniformed pattern, the leather drapes like lambskin but you get the durability of a full-grain deerskin. It's truly unique and makes an heirloom quality jacket like no other.

The Deerskin version is our softest and "drapiest" leather we have ever made. We won't make a goat or lambskin jacket because of the tear resistance and stretch makes for an inferior jacket over time. But our Italian deerskin will give you a similar fit and feel as lamb with better grain and a much more durable jacket. The skins are full-grain aniline dyed with a semi-naked finish in a 3-3.5oz. The surface has a natural pebble-grain that is very uniformed with a matte finish. The feel is on the opposite side of the scale in comparison to our Horween® horsehide. It is soft, supple and does not need to be broken in. Deerskin has more stretch and is known for it's extremely supple hand. Both deerksin and horsehide leathers have very unique and different characteristics, it simply comes down to your personal preference.

Because these hides are mostly from wild deer that are hunted, there is a limited supply and only the best skins from that small pool are used for garment leathers. We have the hides imported from a tannery in central Italy that specializes exotic "Garment" leathers. It is our most expensive jacket leather but also some of the finest "garment grade" deerskin that we have ever seen.

  • The Garrison #320 is a slightly fuller fit than our standard jackets. They are not "over sized" but built to be a comfortable fit as opposed to a "Slim Fit". Order at your normal size or one-size smaller if you prefer a "Slim or Tighter Fit'. The sleeves are cut straight with a larger armhole. The body is tapered from the chest to the bottom by 2-3" and the cinch-straps do function to tighten further. We cut the back length longer to cover your belt. Depending on the size, the back will range from 26-28" on standard cuts and an added 2" longer for a tall cut.
