Our new Garrison Jacket #32 introduced in Fall of 2023 is an exclusive design inspired by American leather jackets in the 50's and 60's. We re-fitted the pattern for a more comfortable sleeve and a slightly longer body. The body tapers at the waist with a 2" wide leather band, the sleeves are designed with a straight cuff and vintage design details. Other features include shoulder application details, a leather zipper pull, large panel single yoke back and side cinch buckles to adjust the taper.

The inside features a leather zipper "patch pocket", leather open pockets and premium plaid or cotton chambray lining. The "Vintage" Horsehide leather is not soft or supple. It is a tough leather with a firm hand that needs time to "break in".

Horween® Horseshide Leather:  The horsehide leather used in our products are primarily European hides from animals slaughtered for meat consumption in Europe and Asia. No horses were slaughtered for the leather. The tanning of the hide is essentially recycling or utilizing the hides for a better use and avoiding waste.

  • The Garrison #32 is a slightly fuller fit than our standard jackets. They are not "over sized" but built to be a comfortable fit as opposed to a "Slim Fit". Order at your normal size or one-size smaller if you prefer a "Slim or Tighter Fit'. The sleeves are cut straight with a larger armhole. The body is tapered from the chest to the bottom by 2-3" and the cinch-straps do function to tighten further. We cut the back length longer to cover your belt. Depending on the size, the back will range from 26-28" on standard cuts and an added 2" longer for a tall cut.

    TALL CUTS:
Tall Cut jackets will be 2" longer in the body and 1" longer in the sleeves. Order a tall cut if you are either 6-1' or taller, longer in the torso or you prefer a jacket to fall more than 3" below your belt.

  • First introduced in 2020, our Horween® Vintage Horsehide is an exclusive and very "Limited Edition" leather that we only use once a year. The hides are a full 3.5-4oz. vegetable tanned front-quarter horsehide with a "vintage" finish, accomplished by adding Horween's proprietary waxes and oils. Tanned at the Horween® tannery in Chicago, the beauty of the leather is the waxy, pull-up finish that creates a light marbling or "antiqued" finish. Available in Vintage Tan and Vintage Brown and tanned at the Horween® Tannery in Chicago, IL.

Like most vegetable tanned leathers, the hides are firm until broken-in. They finish is slightly "matte" out of the box, but patinas with a nice burnished top finish with use. The "Vintage Horsehide" is everything that made American jackets cool in the 60's and 70's; tough, stiff and worn looking. If you are looking for a lightweight, soft leather jacket, this is NOT that leather. The leather is a full-grain with no correcting, so expect to find natural scars and accept that the first few weeks of wear to be stiffer as it breaks-in and molds to your body. The tighter grain horsehide is not only ultra-tough but it forms and shapes to your body, guaranteed to look and feel better with age and wear.
