Our Rucksack No.180 is an exclusive design inspired by vintage military "Rucksacks" made in the 1940's-60's. The rounded base, bound flap and leather drawstring closures are all features common in those styles. We added our own design details such as a leather internal laptop sleeve, a hanging utility pocket, leather drawstring riveted caps and wide, double layered guitar-style shoulder straps, to name a few.

This is LIMITED EDITION version of the Rucksack No.180. It is built from a limited edition US tanned American Bison leather and Horween® latigo trim and straps. The Antique Bison leather is a Charcoal black with a light oil pull-up bison and a medium temper with a broken-in feel. The Rucksack is trimmed (pocket gussets, front straps, handles, etc.) with a heavier 8oz. Horween® latigo strapping leather. Finished with solid-brass Italian hardware and lined with a 8oz. 100% cotton liner in a tan color.

This Rucksack is a Limited Edition product with less than (10) units made. Our production runs for Limited Edition products are generally from 5-20 units, so they are quite small and very special. In most cases they are exclusively available on our website unless otherwise noted.

This product was proudly designed, cut and sewn in our San Diego, California leather shop.

It has been built entirely by our employees 100% (start to finish), in our own factory. We don’t “partially assemble” our products in another country then label them MADE IN USA. In respect to all the American manufacturers over the last century, we do it the right way, honest and true American manufacturing.

The Leather

We use a combination of two premium, full-grain leathers. Our “Antique” American Bison is full-grain bison leather in a firm 5oz. weight. The hides are infused with a blend of premium waxes and oils to give the leather a rich and unique two-toned “antique” look in what is called a “pull-up” leather. The leather is firm for the first few months of use, but as the waxes are broken down and worn, the hide will soften and develop a nice, rich patina.

We finish this product with premium Horween® latigo leather, tanned in Chicago, IL since 1905. The hides are a smooth, flat grain steerhide in a full 7-9oz weight, making them not only a handsome contrast against the antiqued bison but ideal for straps, handles, trim and structured side panels.

We want the product to give you a lifetime of use, but if they fail due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product or replace it at little or no charge for the life of the product.
