Our Tumbling Stock Travel Set is cut entirely from one unique “Horween® Tumbling Stock” hide and assigned a unique serial#. The hide will yield anywhere from 7-12 luggage pieces, all included in that Travel Set. A truly "One-Off" matching collection made in our San Diego factory.

Horween® 1905 Tumbling Travel Set | No. 2503

ONE HIDE & ONE SET MADE
The No. 1905-2503 Tumbling Stock Travel Set is a complete set of (6) pieces, all made from one unique Horween® hide of leather. A truly "One-Off" set of products you will never see duplicated. The set is made from just one complete hide of Horween® tumbling stock leather (except the trim pieces and strap). It is sold complete and includes all the pieces listed and pictured below. The No.900 Travel Tote and the No.980 Weekender are the two largest pieces, perfectly suited for travel or as daily carry bags. You will also received utility kits, dopp kits, wallets, luggage tags and more. The Duffel, Tote & Dopp are lined with a premium 10oz. khaki herringbone cotton fabric from Yoshiwa Mill in Japan.
Each product in this set will carry the same unique 8-digit serial# 1905-2503 and logged in our internal server. The card wallet and luggage tags are not serial# marked.
WHAT IS "TUMBLING STOCK" LEATHER ?
The tumbling process during tanning is critical in achieving the feel and look in a tannage. If the drum is not filled with enough hides, the finish & feel can be compromised. That is where the “Tumbling Stock” hides come in. They fill the drums in order to get to the right weight and capacity for the tannage and will remain in "Tumbling" drum for sometimes up to one year.

The 1905-2503 Set is made from a black 5oz. steerhide tumbling stock. The leather has a natural pebble finish and an incredible hand-feel. We used black Horween® Chromexcel® for all the trim, straps and accents.

HORWEEN® TUMBLING STOCK LEATHER
The tumbling process during tanning is critical in achieving the feel and look in a tannage. Generally the longer the hides tumbles the softer they get and the natural grain of the hides are accentuated. The hides are tumbled in rather large wood or steel drums. Think of them as gigantic dryers but not always with the heat.
If the drum is not filled with enough hides the finish & feel can be compromised, that is where the “Tumbling Stock” hides come in. They fill the drums in order to get to the right weight and capacity for the tannage. The “Tumbling Stock” hides will move from drum-to-drum for as long as 24 consecutive hours and for up to a year before they are finally retired from their very important role in the tanning process. The beauty of the Horween® Tumbling Stock hides is the incredible hand feel, unique look and an amazing leather aroma that they have after their time is up. Each and every hide is completely unique and has its own history at the Horween® tannery in Chicago.
