Inspired by the original Swiss Army saddle bags used in the 1920’s-40’s, our No.212 Saddle Bag is an exclusive design built rugged and stout, to last for generations.
The structured design utilizes old-world construction methods and heavier leathers to ensure it's durability and longevity without failing. The entire bag is cut from genuine US tanned Horween® Chromexcel®, tanned in Chicago since 1905. The No.212 is completely leather-lined without any fabric. The front face is built with a full-length , one piece gusset, leather piping construction and side horsehide cinch straps. The flap is built with a hinge to allow it to lay flat and secured with an Italian made, solid brass buckle closure. We use the strongest, hand-set "flat-style" rivets that are indestructible and nearly impossible to remove. Built with a full-length Chromexcel leather strap for crossbody use or remove the strap and use the top-carry, reinforced handle. The inside is leather lined with a horizontal leather strap to secure a slim laptop or iPad.

Hand-crafted in our San Diego, California leather shop from heavy-weight (8/9oz.) Horween® Chromexcel in a brown grain side and natural backing (flesh side).
Chromexcel ® is one of Horweens original and most popular leathers. For decades tanneries have tried to replicate the look and feel of genuine Horween® Chromexcel®, without success. For over 90 years, Horween® Leather Company has used the same artisanal hot-stuffing formula to infuse these leathers with an oil and wax blend to create an extremely rich and durable leather, which is then hand-stained. This heritage leather features the natural leather grain, exhibits a rich pull-up, and retains softness and color for generations.
