This product is a Seasonal or Limited Edition item that is not always available. Our production runs for Limited Edition products are generally from 5-20 units, so they are quite small and very special. In most cases they are exclusively available on our website unless otherwise noted.

This product was proudly designed, cut and sewn in our San Diego, California leather shop. It has been built entirely by our employees 100% (start to finish), in our own factory.  We don’t “partially assemble” our products in another country then label them MADE IN USA. In respect to all the American manufacturers over the last century, we do it the right way, honest and true American manufacturing.

Aspen is a new leather for Horween® introduced in the Fall of 2024. Aspen is a double-front horsehide leather, tanned and finished in Chicago, IL. It is a full-grain, 100% vegetable tanned leather in a plump 4-5oz. weight, making it an ideal thickness for luggage. Where the Europeans do a traditional “Vachetta” vegetable tanned leather that is smooth and firm, Aspen is totally unique. It is much softer, with a round hand and a natural light pebbling. The surface is finished with a light glaze that gives the hides a rich lustre with some extra shine. It has just the right amount of “stand-up” or “temper” while remaining soft, natural and very rich. 

Like all horsehide leathers, the grain is tight and a bit more durable than steerhide. It will age and patina gracefully over the years.

We love building products a lot more than repairing them!  That’s why we design and build them to last. We want the product to give you a lifetime of use, but if they fail due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product or replace it at little or no charge for the life of the item.
