Vintage Embossed Horsehide Belt No.150 | SF
Our Vintage Embossed Horsehide Belt is special in so many ways. Although we have made variations of this, we have never hand-stained, embossed and stone-washed a belt.
We start with Horween® horsehide vegetable tanned leather in a stout 8/9oz. Each belt strip is cut to 1-½" wide then embossed with a vintage (60-70 years old, rebuilt roller press. The two plates we are using for this first edition are also vintage plates from the 1970's. The first is a SAN FRANCISCO pattern with the Golden Gate Bridge and the famous Trolley Car. The second pattern is a An American Eagle pattern (also from the 1970's) with the wings spanned out with great details. We then bevel the edges, hand stain the belt a light tan color and attach a solid-brass buckle that we import from Italy. The belts are then stone-washed them in Los Angeles and brought back for oiling and dressing. They are genuine vintage pieces that you will not find anywhere else.
HORWEEN® HORSEHIDE LEATHER 8/9oz. | Premium Belting Leather
Tanned in Chicago since 1905, Horween® is a premium leather. The horsehide used in our belts come from the "strip" section of the hide that sits directly above the "Shell" or butt of the horse. The horizontal "strip" runs against the natural grain and has minimal stretch, making it ideal for straps and belts. It's a full vegetable tanned leather in a stout 8-9oz. leather that is ultra strong and naturally smooth.
The solid-brass buckle is attached with Chicago screws and sourced from an Italian hardware manufacturer in Florence, Italy. All 100% cut & finished in the USA.
