"Excellent boot. Bison leather is thick yet supple and broke in after only 2 wears. Highly recommend."

They are one of only a few boot makers that still produces boots using "Channelled Insole Goodyear Welt Construction", an artisanal construction process that extends the longevity, improves comfort and allows you to recraft the boot for generations.
HORWEEN® BLACK BISON & MONTBLANC STEERHIDE
The Final Horween® Bison Roper
This version is made from an American Bison in a "shrunken grain" tannage from Horween® in Chicago. A tough, rugged and natural pebbled surface trimmed with a smooth-grain 5oz. Horween® "Montblanc"steerhide upper shaft. Horween® Leather is not offering the Shrunken American Bison leather in 2026. This is likely the FINAL BUILD in this boot we will make.
The Roper No.10 is an exclusive design built on the classic “Roper” boot, a crossover between a “Western” and a “Dress" boot. Made with a shorter shaft, a cleaner silhouette and a lower heel, the Roper offers supreme comfort and classic styling. The shorter 10" shaft and traditional last, creates a fit that is looser through the heel to allow for comfort and flexibility. The upper shaft, counter, and pull tabs are made from premium US tanned Horween® Horsehide while the vamp is the Horween® Shrunken Bison in black. Each boot is hand-lasted and reinforced with a steel shank and that is secured with wooden pegs. The fully stacked leather heels (1' tall) are finished with a rubber heel tap for longevity. They are leather lined, built without any insole fillers and finished with a premium Vibram® brand sole.
The Roper No.10 Fit
This is a traditional fitting boot in a D width without an insert. If you are used to a snug fitting cowboy boot, order at your boot size. In most cases we recommend ordering at your typical boot size.
EE-Wide AVAILABLE
We will offer the "EE" (Wide) in the Roper Boot No.10.
Please note, this would be be a non-returnable size, so please confirm your boot sizing first or call for more assistance.

"Great boot! Love'm"
"I’ve had these boots for about two months. I loved ‘em out of the box, worn ‘em about every day, and can’t imagine I’ll ever buy another brand…but I’ll def buy another pair in a different color just to keep the significant other off my back about wearing the same thing too much!"
"I was interested in finding boots made from leathers produced by known excellent tanneries. I found Coronado Leather was offering a limited number of roper boots made with leathers from the famous Horween Tannery in Chicago. One choice was shrunken bison vamps, horsebutt shafts, Vibram soles and to make the offer even better, they would be manufactured by Rios of Mercedes. I ordered a pair. I have had them for about 2 weeks and they are even better than I had hoped. My usual size fit perfectly. The vamp and shaft leather is a little thicker than on other boots, but soft and comfortable. The pebbling of the bison leather is very attractive. They were initially a little stiff to wear, but have become more and more comfortable with each day of wear. So far, these are excellent boots. Customer service was excellent as well. I was so pleased that I purchased a second pair in brown just before my size sold out. I am just as pleased with the second pair as with the first!"
"Amazing and beautiful boot. Thanks so much!"
