Our NEW Roper Boot No.10 is handmade in Texas by Rios Of Mercedes. They are one of only a few boot makers that still produces boots using "Channelled Insole Goodyear Welt Construction", an artisanal construction process that extends the longevity, improves comfort and allows you to recraft the boot for generations. The Roper No.10 is an exclusive design built on the classic “Roper” boot, a crossover between a “Western” and a “Dress" boot. Made with a shorter shaft, a cleaner silhouette and a lower heel, the Roper offers supreme comfort and classic styling.  The shorter 10" shaft and traditional last, creates a fit that is looser through the heel to allow for comfort and flexibility. Each boot is hand-lasted and reinforced with a steel shank and that is secured with wooden pegs. The fully stacked leather heels (1' tall) are finished with a rubber heel tap for longevity. They are leather lined, built without any insole fillers and finished with a premium, lightweight & durable Vibram® brand sole.

HORWEEN® WAXED-FLESH HORSEHIDE (CHICAGO Brown)
This version is made entirely from a unique and very exclusive Horween® Chromexcel® Horsehide in their "waxed-flesh" finish. Much like a rough-out leather, Horween® takes the flesh side but then applies waxes and oils to seal the flesh just a bit. Over time the waxes will break down and the leather will develop a unique worn patina. At 3-4oz., the hides are lighter weight than our steerhide and bison leather but durable and resilient like horsehide is known to be.
Another distinct feature of this leather is the grain side, which is a lighter contrasting shade and with a sleek and rich finish.

The Roper No.10 Fit
This is a traditional fitting boot in a D width without an insert. If you are used to a snug fitting cowboy boot, order at your boot size. In most cases we recommend ordering at your typical boot size. If you have ordered our No.92 Rios Vintage Boot, for sure order up ½ size from that boot.
Narrow & Wide Widths (B & EE)
We do offer both a "B" (Narrow) or "EE" (Wide) in our Roper Boot No.10.  When placing your order for a custom width, select the option from the menu and we will contact you after the order is placed to confirm the size.
Please note, this would be be a non-returnable size, so please confirm your boot sizing first or call for more assistance.

Great Boots

"I purchased the No. 10 CXL Horsehide Roper/Horween CXL Chicago Brown and I love these boots. The shaft and throat of these boots are narrower than my other No. l0 Roper boots (Bison leather in both black and brown), which initially presented challenges putting on and removing the boots. Once on, they were and are extremely comfortable. With repetition and a little gentle stretching, the throat is not not as tight. I really like the design, comfort and color of these boots. These are high quality boots that I will enjoy for many years to come. Great customer service and excellent, durable boots."

Good Fit

"The boots are tough to start out on. With the right sox it all came good immediately. I have never spent that amount of money on foot wear except ski boots. The fit, style and comfort seem much the same. I believe the use I have for them will only improve the quality of these fine hand made boots. I am proud I made the choice. Your confidence Brent steered me to the purchase. The top professional advice from you is gladly accepted. A sale will never be as important as a satisfied customer. Ralph Sheehan"

"Once Im able to get past the instep they fit like a glove. The left boot is hard to get through but i feel it breaking in. After all that and getting my foot in the boot it fits perfectly. I know the worst part will be breaking in, so Im not worried. I recommend this brand to anyone looking for a quality Rios boot."
